Beauty and the Beast Themed Proposal at Bellingrath

“I’ve never felt this way about anyone. I want to do something for her.” – Beast

About Hannah & Shara…

A few weeks ago I was contacted and asked to photograph a surprise proposal in Mobile, AL. Hannah reached out to me and told me  a little bit about her plans and I was so excited to see her vision come to life- A Beauty and the Beast Themed proposal! Hannah’s fiance-to-be loves the classic film so it was just perfect for her. I love it when my clients show their personalities in the details.

Hannah sent me some Pinterest images of what it all would look like in her imagination and I helped her formulate a plan to bring it all together. We actually, last minute, ended up switching venues and I am so glad that we did. Bellingrath Gardens and Home was the perfect setting for their theme.

Hannah arranged to have an antique convertible Corvette pick Shara up, deliver her to a salon where she would have her hair and makeup done. After hair and makeup Shara got to select one of six, y’all SIX, beautiful yellow gowns to wear. Once Shara was all dolled up, her chauffeur delivered her to Bellingrath where her closest friends and family awaited her at the front entrance. Meanwhile, Hannah and I chose the perfect location in the gardens to pop the question and styled the area with really neat enchanted roses in glass cases to mimic the infamous magical rose in Beauty and the Beast, a clock, a candelabra and a floral bouquet.

The Proposal…

Hannah got dressed and snuck off to hide and await her bride. I greeted Shara and walked her through the garden paths, snapping some portraits of her along the way because she was just stunning! She looked like a real life Disney princess. When we got the the area where her family had gathered and Hannah stood waiting it was like a fairytale.

Hannah shared with me that she didn’t know what to say but in the moment the words came to her. She kneeled in front of her beautiful princess, their children, parents and closest friends and asked for forever and SHE SAID YES!!! Do you blame her? How impressive! Oh my, what an amazing proposal story!!! The happy couple took a few moments to celebrate and we toured the gardens for some portraits.

I just love the way their gallery turned out. These two are so genuinely in love and love is everything. If this was a proposal I cannot wait to see the wedding!

Check out other weddings I’ve had the honor of photographing here.
